Biography: The first doctor in Qatar to be certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology is Dr. Noor Al-Khori. She finished her residency in Radiology at Weill Cornell/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York following her graduation from Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. She then went on to undertake fellowships in pediatric imaging at Lucille Packard Children’s/Stanford Hospital in California and breast imaging at Weill Cornell New York.

In February 2018, Dr. Al-Khori became a member of Sidra Medicine Diagnostic Imaging, where she is presently involved in clinical practice, teaching, and research. She also serves as the Medical Director for Radiology’s Quality and Safety.

Through imaging, radiologists can get information about the structure and function of the human body that would not be attainable through surgery. Penetrating radiation tests, such X-rays, CT scans, and PET scans, are used to diagnose diseases. Furthermore, they may employ MRI and ultrasound scans. They also use various radiation treatments to eradicate cancerous tissues. Medical experts that use radiography to treat cancer are known as radiation oncologists.
